Student Union Government University of Calabar (SUG UNICAL or UNICAL SUG) is the student leadership arm of UNICAL.
According to the UNICAL SUG constitution as amended, 2014, below are the aims and objectives of the SUG.
i. To maintain and protect the constitution of the Union.
ii. To condemn and oppose any type of discrimination, injustice, oppression and
victimization of human beings.
iii. To produce an effective students government body.
iv. To encourage a harmonious students-staff relationship.
v. To provide means by which we may effectively utilize the educational and
cultural resources of the University of Calabar for the development of
responsible community participation, cooperation and leadership.
vi. To play a progressive role in national development, in political technology
economic and social spheres.
vii. To content cooperate aims are identifiable with an acceptable to the
organization whose aims are identifiable with an acceptable to the Students’
Union and for these ends, provided these organizations are lawful.
viii. To represent the Students of the University of Calabar in all matters.
ix. To encourage students in sporting activities and provide adequate platforms on these basis.
x. To assist all affiliated clubs and students’ association.
