The University of Calabar, through the Office of the Registrar, has issued a suspension for all final-year students in the Faculty of Engineering following reports of unlawful actions today, September 25, 2024.
The Vice Chancellor expressed deep disappointment over the reckless behavior exhibited by these students in violation of the school’s existing policy on “Ban on Reckless Driving, Flying of Colours, and Wild Celebration after Examinations.” These students were involved in disruptive and dangerous activities under the guise of celebrating the conclusion of their final exams, threatening the peace and safety of the campus.
Effective immediately, as of September 25, 2024, the affected students are suspended from academic activities. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) has been instructed to ensure that all academic actions, including the processing of results, for these students are halted pending the outcome of an investigation by the Special Committee.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and all Heads of Departments are required to enforce full compliance with this directive.
